Zgodba, ki se dogaja 19 let po izidu zadnje knjige z naslovom Harry Potter in svetinje smrti, je nastala kot dramsko delo za igro v dveh delih, ki bo premiero v Londonu doživela dan pred izidom knjige. Istoimensko igro je J. K. Rowling pripravila v sodelovanju s piscem Jackom Thornom in režiserjem Johnom Tiffanyjem.
V osmi zgodbi čarovniške sage J. K. Rowling, je priljubljeni junak Harry Potter zgaran uslužbenec Ministrstva za čaranje, mož in oče treh otrok. Medtem ko se Harry Potter v novi zgodbi bori s preteklostjo, pa se mora njegov najmlajši sin Albus Robaus spopasti s težo družinske zapuščine, katere si ni nikoli želel.

The stroke of midnight on the 31st July heralds the release of the script book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II, an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, accompanying the opening of a new play by Jack Thorne on the 30th July.
Now everyone will be able to delight in an entirely new chapter of the Harry Potter adventure, no matter how far away from the wonders of the London stage.
The brand new, eighth instalment of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a play. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II, available as a script book, is a piece of theatre based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. The world premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be on July 30th 2016 in London’s West End.
Being Harry Potter was never easy but now he must contend with being an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school children as well.
Harry struggles to keep his past buried and move on, while his youngest son Albus must bear the weight of a family legacy that he does not want. As the past fuses with the present, father and son face an ominous truth: sometimes, darkness originates where you least expect it.
